Key Largo woman arrested for aggravated assault with a knife

A Key Largo woman was arrested Monday afternoon. She is accused of hitting a man with a walking stick and then chasing him with a kitchen knife.

The victim called the Sheriff’s Office at 10:20 a.m. He told Deputies Gil Gonzalez and Dave Campbell a friend of his, 42 year old Christina Cunningham, had attacked him. He said she used to live with him at his home in Key Largo Trailer Village but his landlord had kicked her off the property. He said she still keeps her belongings there and came to the house to get ready for work. He said after getting ready, she walked to a neighbor’s house, whom she works for. She returned a short time later yelling about not being paid for days she had worked. When he asked her not to be so loud, he said she went crazy.

The victim said she attacked him with a large black wooden walking stick, hitting him in the arm with it. He said she punched him in the head, then went next door, returning with a large kitchen knife, chasing him with it. He said at one point she picked up a large concrete block and threw it at him as well.

When he called the Sheriff’s Office for help, she left the area. She was found Monday afternoon at Boardwalk Pizza in Key Largo. She was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery. She was booked into jail.
